If My Little Pony made a scooter

This photo was taken on 2011-07-01 by Andrew Wright in Braintree, England.

I need to hear a group of drunk cherubs singing every time I look at this scooter... HOLY CRAP ON FIRE was this scooter designed in the mind of Nayn Cat? Did Hello Kitty and My Little Pony do it and gave birth to this BEAUTY!

All I know is that this scooter is on Cute OVERLOAD!

This my friends is a wee bit of sunshine called LML Star Deluxe

I have no idea what this guy is saying but I am sold!

You gotta admit that a scooter in its natural "Euro" element is a beautiful thing.

A scooter is NOT a bike

Scooting around Athens By Jim McGown December 8, 2011

To the person who thinks riding a 50cc scooter is the perfect transportation answer to avoiding getting a real motorcycle license and paying for real insurance.

YOU ARE WRONG!

I have read news story after news story by some reporter who decided that riding a 50cc scooter was the perfect way to avoid high gas prices, traffic and parking, without making any effort at obtaining proper training/ licensing and insurance.

Ha-laity immediately ensues, and then they crash. Usually during their first ride. Oh ha ha, sooo clever. Scooters are dangerous. Everyone back to their cars!

Please act like a real reporter and actually do a little digging and a little research. Talk to the DMV to find out why you should take a MSF Course for any cc scooter.

DON'T take your friends word for it... DO the DU-DILIGENCE and get some qualified information.

Here is the skinny for anyone who is interesting in purchasing and riding a scooter:

1. Scooters are not "bikes" They are motorized  two-wheel vehicles that ride on the road much like a 4-wheeled car or a motorcycle. Therefore you need to know and follow the rules of the road and the laws in your state for operating 2 wheel vehicles.

2. Scooters are not "motorized bikes". You do not steer, or handle them like you are riding a 'bike".

3. A scooter requires training, licensing and insurance, just like any other vehicle.

4. Yes, protective helmets and gear are a requirement, since you will be moving in traffic going at LEAST 20 - 35 mph, even if you are riding a 50cc scooter.

People have died just falling in the shower ,(William Holden,(Sunset Boulevard, Picnic), Robert Culp (I-Spy), Dave Freeman, whose book "100 Things To Do Before You Die" inspired the recent film "The Bucket List", died after falling and hitting his head at his home and he was only 47!

So wear a helmet and the proper gear, like shoes or better yet, BOOTS... not Crocs, not Flip-flops not tennis shoes..real riding boots. And please get some real miles under your belt before you decide to ride in shorts and a t-shirt. No matter how hot it gets.

5. Yes you will need insurance. Because if you fall or get hit, you WILL be injured unless you are made of rubber.

So please Mr or Ms Funny Reporter, if you really want to ride a scooter and write about it, be an adult and do some real investigation. Take it seriously, or get injured. And that, no matter how cleverly you write about it, is not funny.

Tokyo 2012 Motor Show E-Scooters

I am telling you, it don't get better than this my friends!
Check out these cool and new electric Scooter designs from the 2012 Tokyo Motor Show!

Yamaha Tokyo EV Miu - (Did I say Meow?)

I am sure my pronunciation is way off but I really want it to be

 MIU = MEOW!

I think I am just loving the name too much:

Okay ... NEXT!

Honda Moto Compo

 WTH!

Okay - Anyone look at this and think either...toaster or stationary bike?
Can you fold this thing up? Pick it up and put it in your purse?

Come on Honda!

Does anyone else look at this and see this:

It should sell great at Nascar Rallies and Tailgate parties.

Here is my comment on that little beauty:

Ya ain't fooling me designers, I can see most of these models are disturbingly close to personal mobility scooters.

As the Baby Boomers age and grow even older. These smaller, electric scooters may be a way of getting around our growing Senior "Preserves", (55 and older communities).

This is a new Kymco E scooter and at least this looks "street-worthy".

This is also a Kymco.

This Suzuki model is looking pretty plastic!
I can cruise around Wal-mark on this little number

Again, this at least looks street-worthy.

I give these models 2 green Mehs for E-ffort!
Because I am sure I will be cruising around on one in my near future.

More from the " You can't make this Stuff Up" Files

Two performance artists in Tiwan wear custom made potted plant helmets to call attention to fossil-fuels negative impact on the environment.

I actually like the look! But I am fairly strange...

This earns three Green Mehs for Positive Environmental Impact!

You Can't Make This Stuff Up

Kowa Tmsuk's Kobot: an 18mph electric transformer you control with a smartphone.
How should I react to this....
It's cute, no doubt about it.
But I can't help but think...

or this

Well maybe when I am a stylish senior.

I give the electric Kobot, one Green meh.

Gonna Rock on Thru to Electric Avenue...

Like ridin' a neon encrusted brick!

Who really needs a Tron Electric Motorcycle? Well I guess someone does, because Evolve Motorcycles is adding this neon brick with all the charm of a Nerelco shaver to it's line.

I don't know... it's kinda close...

At the Milan International Auto Show, Evolve reveled its new Tron Bike causing a buzz...

Apparently, this is a real bike and it can be ridden and it can be purchased for a hefty fee.
"The bike features 32-inch hubless wheels supporting a handcrafted fiberglass frame(that’s OLED tape providing the cool lighting effects) based on the gasoline model of the Tron bike manufactured by Parker Brothers Choppers last year (which, incidentally, also recently went electric).

The Xenon features a 40,000 watt motor powered by a lithium ion battery, which propels the bike at 100 MPH over a 100 mile range."

I have seen videos of someone riding this thing around a parking lot and the body position ...
is a bit ... Awkward.

In fact, it gets my, "Awkward Wesley Crusher Award of Awkwardness"!

I mean.. it is cool but...it looks like a pelvis cracker.

It gets 2 mehs.. on the meh scale.

The only way I will probably get a BMW scooter

It's funny, because it's true

Well, winter is slowly sneaking up on us here in Chicagoland and it is almost time for me to put the Blue Dragon up for the season.

Sadly, the only thing I have to look forward too in the winter here, Is the big Motorcycle Swap meet in Tinley Park, and the Progressive International Motorcycle shows in February.

Of course both these shows take place in the same week and it is a long, cold and BORING wait until these shows appear in the most DREARY-EST
time of the year.

But I LOVE these shows! The Motorcycle Swap Meet is a total leather-clad biker show with plenty of good deals, if you are looking for traditional biker gear and accessories. Lot's of Leath-tha!

The Progressive show is a great show too. With plenty of variety and lots of bikes, gear and accessories for sale.

FYI - it pays to wear a backpack and a real comfortable pair of shoes when you attend these shows. Lots of walking, looking and swag so make sure you are unencumbered by heavy jackets or boots.

Here are some old photos from a few past shows while I wait...2...more ...months...sigh!

shiny shiny and PURPLE TOO! (shiver).

This was a cool little scooter at the Allstate booth.

Dang, if I ain't the LEAST photogenic gal out there!
Okay, I will work on my "fierceness".

Every motorcycle needs a little fairy.

Now why would you want to ride a Dragon Slayer bike when you can just ride the dragon?

You always gotta ride with your wee voodoo baby zombie doll.

How about a sweet little Milo scooter? Nice use of the brown.

V3 Automatic Motorcycle... only a 250cc, so barely worth it.  It was a bit uncomfortable for me.. but I might have popped for it, if it felt as sweet as a scooter.

For you, I make the Duck Face...mmm sexy...

Dreams come true kids!

See, dreams can come true...with a lot of crying and whining.

I had previously posted of my lust for a certain bit of scooter gear, specifically the GOGO Gear Hologram jacket. But I never seemed to have the cash...

So I subtly requested it in a variety of ways

and email content like the following:

I give this GOGO gear Hologram jacket  - 3 mehs out of 3!

and this...

All of this hysteria led to my BF finally breaking down and ordering one for my 50th birthday!!!

Only to find the it was out of stock!

sadz

But my sister, Lizzie could not take no of an answer. She told my BF that this was UNACCEPTABLE and that he needed to contact GOGO gear directly.

In a tag team of terror, my BF and sister joined forces and NAGGED GOGO gear president and owner Arlene, into personally digging up the elusive LAST size 8 Hologram Jacket! And it was delivered yesterday, with a personal note from Arlene!

All of which proves that crying and whining DOES WORK!!!

Yay for meh!
